Reconstruction of a former Hertie department store in a prime “A” retail location into an attractive new retail centre featuring exciting, high-quality urban architecture, and bringing several major retailers under one roof. Through the partial demolition of the old structure, the project also created a new town square in the centre of Detmold, which is just south of Herford and likewise midway between Hannover and Dortmund. The revitalisation of this highly visible property has been instrumental in bringing new vitality to the city’s pedestrian zone.
